Logistics Technical Assessor - Super Hornet & Growler

The opportunity

We are recruiting for the position of Logistics Technical Assessor, supporting the development of the F-18 Super Hornet and Growler (SH&G) program. The primary function of this role is to support the successful build-up of SH&G programs aeronautical product (AP) data - from a technical assessing standpoint. This will include successful coordination with multiple stakeholders to ensure the relevant data is captured and accurately entered into the various support systems and applications.

The work location for this position is at RAAF base Amberley.

Responsibilities of this role;

1. Deliver logistics and technical support to the SH&G program - daily duties of the SH&G technical assessor include;

  • Action identification requests: relating to new or existing AP for SH&G into various supporting data bases/applications (including ERP).
  • Action unscheduled construction, updates and maintenance of Australian Defence Aviation Authorised Spares System (ADAASS) for SH&G.
  • Action routine Technical Substitution and undertake amendments as required.
  • Action identification and logistics requirements for Special Technical Instructions/Modifications (STIs / MODs) and Deviations.
  • Provide interrogations and interpretations of engineering technical drawings, data and specifications.
  • At times, technical inspection of aeronautical products at a warehouse level for serviceability and compliance.         

2. Provide technical advice to Spares Inventory Managers (SIMs), Repairable Item Managers (RIMs) and Engineering staff in relations to Statements of Requirements and recommended orders.

3. Action requests for information from management, maintenance and engineering personnel.

4. Transfer skills and knowledge to others within the SH&G team, through the sharing of ideas, information and experiences. Seek opportunities for professional development and support the contributions of others.

Essential criteria

  • Demonstrated experience with a minimum two years as a Technical Assessor
  • An excellent communicator who can transfer knowledge and influence outcomes
  • A pragmatic approach to problem solving, who can leverage their knowledge and experience to provide the right outcomes for the program.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a NV1 Security Clearance

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience within a Systems Program Office (SPO) environment
  • Aircraft maintenance engineering experience / qualifications
  • Experience working within a matrix based organisation.
