By joining us, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact while working with a  team dedicated to excellence and creativity. With over 2,500 employees across 14 sites in Australia and three international locations, we are poised for future growth and have a variety of opportunities available.

BDA is an Equal Opportunity Employer and strongly encourages women and individuals of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island descent to be part of an organisation that fosters a safe workplace environment. We offer outstanding benefits, flexible working arrangements, and a supportive workplace for all of Boeing Company's 160,000 employees worldwide.

The opportunity

We are seeking an intermediate level Product Support Engineer to join the Battle Space Communications Program (BCS) Integrated Logistics Support Team (ILS). This role will be based in Brisbane and will play a crucial part in providing Support System Analytical (Analysis, Modelling, and Simulation) services to various BDA programs, including the Battle Space Communications programs.

In this role, you will utilise Modelling and Simulation techniques to conduct predictive analysis of asset performance, helping to develop and verify product support requirements. You will analyse historical data and create mathematical models to forecast future trends and assess the impact of potential changes. This may involve exploring options to enhance asset Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM), optimising maintenance event sequencing, or providing technical justification for significant investment decisions.

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

  1. Analytical Mindset: Ability to deconstruct complex issues into manageable components, identifying patterns and inefficiencies.
  2. Proactive Communication: Clear and constructive communicator who actively shares thoughts and ideas within a team that values open dialogue and feedback.
  3. Collaborative Spirit: Enjoys working in diverse teams to achieve common objectives, valuing the strengths and perspectives of others to enhance team synergy.
  4. Creative Problem-Solving: Approaches challenges with innovative thinking, adapting strategies to new information or changing conditions.
  5. Attention to Detail: Maintains high standards of quality and precision in work outputs, ensuring thorough execution of all project aspects.
  6. Adaptability: Quickly adjusts to new roles and environments, embracing change and managing transitions effectively.
  7. Initiative: Self-motivated and capable of identifying improvement opportunities independently, demonstrating leadership and decisiveness when needed.

As part of the BCS ILS team, you will provide informed decision support for a range of technical challenges to our internal and external customers. Our team has established a high level of trust with Integrated Product Teams, Program Leadership, and our Customers, and you will contribute to delivering reliable and actionable analysis.

  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements.

Desired Skills/Experience

  • Experience using data analysis techniques to create technical arguments and support decision-making.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical results to non-technical audiences through workshops, presentations, and reports.
