The opportunity

We are seeking a talented, motivated and professional Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) Support Manager to join the MRO Services team. The MRO Services Support Manager will manage a diverse team in our exciting and rewarding Capability. This position will support the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Capability across all BDA MRO supported Programs and is located at RAAF Base Amberley, QLD.

 

What You'll Do

  • Lead with Excellence: Leading a multidisciplinary team of employees providing support to MRO programs Nationally
  • Collaborate for Success: Ensure team safety, harmony, technical development, authorisation & training obligations and personal welfare are promoted
  • Manage Team Objectives: Objectives are met and reported by applying ethical values to our organisational behaviours, whilst maintaining compliance to applicable regulations & standards including Legislative, DASR, ISO & Boeing
  • Optimize Maintenance Policy: Standardise processes and procedures across all BDA MRO Programs
  • Support Growth: Support to current and emerging business new campaigns
  • Foster Team Development: Use your exceptional soft skills to lead and manage a team, promoting safety, harmony, and professional growth.
  • Drive Ethical Practices: Ensure that team objectives are met while upholding our ethical values and compliance with legislative, DASR, ISO, and Boeing standards.
  • Champion: The identification of efficiencies, improvements and best practices
  • Lead by example to ensure conformance with BDA's values and policies, especially in relation to workplace safety, equity and diversity and environmental management

 

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in DASR P66, P145 & P147 (Desirable)
  • Qualifications in Maintenance and or Engineering in an Aviation discipline (Desirable)
  • Experience in managing Technical Personnel within a CASA, DASA or equivalent accredited organization (Desirable)
  • Defence experience is highly regarded but not essential
  • Qualifications
    • Formal qualifications in either Aviation Maintenance, Engineering, Project Management or Technical Discipline.
  • Skills: -
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate between stakeholders of differing cultural backgrounds and experience
    • Business acumen to ensure prioritisation and pragmatic deconfliction of stakeholder competing needs
    • Emotional intelligence to intuitively identify and action stakeholders needs when conducting business in a high tempo environment
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in managing and leading teams of technical personnel, preferably in an aviation maintenance environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to balance customer and business priorities to meet required outcomes.
    • Demonstrated ability to operate in a high paced operational environment.
     

Security Clearance

You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a government security clearance (Negative Vet 1) sponsored by BDA. Therefore, you must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and must have the ability to verify your background for your whole life i.e. birth to present time.
