The Opportunity -

In partnership with the ADF and the Commonwealth, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides aircraft maintenance and upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support and training on some of the most capable surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms in the world.

BDA is looking for a Technical Publications Specialist who will join the CH47 program.  In this role you will be working as a Coordinator and technical writer, helping progress the planning and coordination for the update, review and release of multiple technical publications and processes.

This role is based at Gallipoli Barracks, Enoggera Brisbane, working along side the Australian Army.

As a Technical Publications Specialiast within BDA, you will

  • Assist in coordinating a team dedicated to the development of various technical publication elements.
  • Conduct quality assurance and in-process reviews, validating the accuracy of technical publications.
  • Contribute to the Development of procedural guidelines to ensure that newly established work practices are accurately documented and consistently applied.
  • Support the creation of high-quality technical data, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints.
  • Participate in the planning, coordination, and monitoring of Technical Publications personnel and resources to identify efficiencies and maintain adherence to schedules, metrics, and reporting requirements.


About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proven experience in producing publication elements using XML or SGML.
  • Proficiency with technical publication authoring tools, including Arbortext, NotePad++, and IADS.
  • Experience in utilising technical publication and software comparison data manipulation tools, such as Beyond Compare and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Experience in creating technical publications for all levels of operations and maintenance for both new and fielded major equipment systems.
  • Aircraft experience is desirable.
  • Previous Experience in Technical Illustration is desirable.

 
Applicants must currently hold an NV1 Security clearance.
