The Opportunity -

In partnership with the ADF and the Commonwealth, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides aircraft maintenance and upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support and training on some of the most capable surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms in the world.

BDA is looking for a Tech Pubs Librarian/Technical Writer who will join the CH47 program.  In this role you will be working as a technical writer, helping to update, review and release multiple technical publications and processes for Army Aviation.

This role is based at Swartz Barracks Oakey, working along side the Australian Army.

As a Tech Pubs Librarian/Technical Writer within BDA, you will

  • Receive and incorporate publication change requests from the Flight crews and work with the technical support team to propose changes to the customer for approval.
  • Receive and incorporate publication amendments and keep associated records.
  • Conduct audits and checks of the publications suite.
  • Draft technical instructions based on provided technical and engineering data.
  • Be the primary point of contact within the program for publications.
  • Working closely with CH47 Coordinators and Execution Leads to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks to achieve project revision deliveries.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proven experience in producing publication elements using XML or SGML.
  • Proficiency with technical publication authoring tools, including Arbortext, NotePad++, and IADS.
  • Experience in utilising technical publication and software comparison data manipulation tools, such as Beyond Compare and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Experience in creating technical publications for all levels of operations and maintenance for both new and fielded major equipment systems.
  • Aircraft experience is desirable.
  • Previous Experience in Technical Illustration is desirable.
