Commence your career by joining our innovative Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Apprentice, in either the avionics, mechanical or structures trade where you'll play a vital role in supporting highly advanced programs at RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland. You don't need a background in Defence aviation to be successful! We encourage all members of the Aviation trades industry to apply. If you hold Fixed or Rotary Wing qualifications and have experience in General, Civil, or Defence Aviation, we would love to hear from you.

Plus, there may be opportunities to participate in travel to other locations, fully funded by us.  Your role will involve hands-on aircraft flight-line activities in support of mission success, routine maintenance/troubleshooting of systems and components, ensuring compliance with maintenance documentation, and fostering a culture of safety in the workplace.

 

To thrive in this position, you must be an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is able to pass all CERT IV - Aeroskills examinations to the acceptable pass mark of the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and achieve 75% or higher to attain a Defence Licensed outcome.

What you need to know

  • Fortnightly wage: $1,433.85 (<21) or $2,557.62 (≥21) pending experience + Allowances as applicable, plusSuperannuation, based on experience.
  • Roster: shift Work via a Day/Evening rotation, requiring flexibility in working hours and locations.
  • Allowances provided as necessary, including Per Diems for travel-related expenses.
  • Parking and canteen facilities available onsite.
  • Potential relocation assistance is available for the right applicant.

 

The skills needed for success include:

  • Enthusiasm and passion for a career in aviation including a commitment to undergo/complete a CERT IV - Aeroskills and maintain an experience journal
  • Commitment to a safe work environment and adherence to Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with co-workers, mentors and management.

Necessary requirements

  • C class driver's license.
  • Australian Citizenship, with the ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 AGSVA clearance.
  • Able to speak, read and write fluent English
  •  

Security Clearance

You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a government security clearance (Negative Vetting 1) sponsored by BDA. Therefore, you must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and must have the ability to verify your background for whole of life i.e. birth to present time.
