About the opportunity

The AH-64E Boeing Apache helicopter has been selected for the Australian Army and will be coming into service soon, joining our current Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) supported rotary wing fleet of Chinook medium lift and EC-135 training helicopters. BDA supports these inspiring programs with Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics, Quality, System Safety and Management skills. BDA are looking for personnel to support this exciting opportunity.

We are seeking an experienced Unit Inspection Officers (several opportunities) to support the AH-64E Apache helicopter and partner fleets.

This is a great opportunity for an AME (Mech/Airframe/Avionics) looking to continue their career within the aviation industry, working in a fast paced environment to continue utilising your technical skills

This role is based in Townsville working alongside the Army customer.


As a skilled Unit inspection Officer, you will apply your knowledge and experience to provide the following services for the Apache fleet.  These tasks include:

  • Be an integral part of the Apache capability.
  • Physical inspection of aeronautical product on receipt and dispatch to ensure standards of manufacture, repairs, and modifications have been completed IAW approved standards or procedures and ensure no obvious damage or deterioration.
  • Aeronautical product technical data analysis relating to items for AH64E configurations and repaired items received on site Part No and Cage code verification including FEDLOG Interrogation
  • Develop, analyse, implement, and maintain materiel logistics plans, processes and procedures related to the maintenance support system for allocated platforms and system.
  • Provide advice and support to the materiel logistics team to maintain the effectiveness and efficiency of the maintenance support system for allocated platforms and systems
  • Support Authority to fit/Alternativity/Substitution (if required).
  • Location and tracking of CAMM2 assets via NetMAARS.
  • Assisting DR Clerks with technical discrepancies.
  • Support CAMM2 transactions including initial asset receptions, creation of Trav Tags, raising of unserviceabilites. (if required).
  • Supports the Supply planning and data quality for the Apache Logistics organisation.
  • Supports archiving of FMS Documentation.
  • Inspection of procurement documentation to establish completeness.


To be consider for this role you will have:

  • Aeronautical Component Receipts Officer (ACRO).
  • Previous aircraft trades experience.
  • Previous experience using CAMM2 or Aircraft Notebook application desirable.
