The Opportunity 

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) are looking for a motivated Security Advisor to join the Global Security Activity (GSA) Team. Applicants should have demonstrated experience in supporting and maintaining protective security in a Defence or Defence Industry role.

This role will be based at RAAF Edinburgh with some travel between Adelaide CBD and RAAF Base Edinburgh (SA).  

As a Security Advisor, you will:

  • Support Boeing Defence Australia and its customers in the day-to-day operations and support of program security requirements, responsibilities and compliance activities;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers and Boeing staff;
  • Manage daily and reactive security administrative tasks set by the Senior Security Advisor and Global Security function;
  • Support the Senior Security Advisor in management of Boeing assets and facilities;
  • Deliver Security briefings and training sessions regularly;
  • Provide protective security advice to the program supporting management of highly secure areas; and
  • Support Emergency Management activities within South Australia

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience working as a Defence Security Specialist in a large Defence Industry prime contractor or with the Australian Department of Defence is preferred but not essential;
  • General understanding of the Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF), ASIO Tech Notes, and security practices and procedures relating to high security locations and programs;
  • Understanding of Australian Government Classified Information management;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build trust and collaborative relationships with the leadership team and other employees;
  • Current Defence Security Officer Course, or the ability to quickly attain; and
  • A minimum Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Australian Government Security Clearance with the ability to obtain Negative Vetting Level 2 (NV2). 

Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements.
