The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical or Electronics Engineer to fill the Senior Hardware Engineer role leading and supporting a team of engineers in providing Sustainment support to the E-7 Wedgetail Ground Mission Simulations System, a key part of this advanced platform support infrastructure. This role is located at RAAF Base Williamtown in the Newcastle area.

Responsibilities

  • Leading development of a range of engineering solutions for COTS equipment and custom electrical power, simulation and control systems.
  • Technical and engineering leadership and development of engineers.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for hardware infrastructure design, installation and associated connectivity specific issues processes and regulations.
  • Track and evaluate hardware team to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.
  • Working in a collaborative environment.
  • Full development of engineering and configuration management documentation.

 Experience/Qualifications

  • You have 5+ years' relevant experience in engineering or in an electrical/electronic or ICT discipline.
  • You love learning and exploring new technology.
  • A self-starter with a “can-do” attitude.
  • Enjoy working in a diverse team.
  • Exceptional analytical, complex problem solving and communication skills and an ability to build strong stakeholder relationships is essential.
  • Have excellent time management skills as you will need to be able to prioritise workloads and shift focus as necessary.
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements, NV1 clearance highly desirable.
