The Opportunity -  

The AH-64E Apache is the world's most advanced and proven attack helicopter. It integrates innovative technologies to aid the crew in decision making, offering a new level of battlefield dominance through enhanced performance, increased situational awareness, superior survivability, and improved target detection, acquisition and engagement.

We are seeking an experienced EHS Specialist, to support the AH-64E Apache Helicopter program.  The Australian Apaches will join the growing global fleet of more than 1280 aircraft operating in 18 countries, including coalition and regional partners.

This role is based in Townsville working alongside the Army customer.

As the EHS Specialist you will: 

  • Providing Environmental and Health & Safety subject matter expert advice.
  • Supporting internal customers and the Apache on Environmental and Health & Safety processes, issues and regulatory compliance.
  • Performing inspection and audits, investigating incidents and providing advice regarding corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence of incidents.
  • Coordinating the development and maintenance of EHSMP's in accordance with company requirements and international Environmental and Health & Safety standards. 
  • Helping to establish a culture that is aligned with EHS objectives, with continuous EHS improvements.

About you 

To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • 5 or more years' related work experience.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Environment, Health & Safety or a related discipline.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant Environmental and Health & Safety legislation and regulations.
  • Energy, passion, problem solving ability with can-do attitude. 
  • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously.


Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements.  An ability to attain an NV1 Security Clearance will be required.
