The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) operates eight C-17A Globemasters. As the primary heavy lift capability for the Australian Defence Force they are called upon 24/7, 365 days a year for operations both domestically and abroad. Boeing Defence Australia supports the RAAF in its mission across a multitude of disciplines and is relied upon to deliver outstanding sustainment support across three separate contracts.

The opportunity

An opportunity exists for a permanent/full time role as the Program Manager for the C-17A Australian Sustainment Services Program. This position directly reports to the Director of Sustainment Operations Business Unit and is responsible and accountable for the delivery of the contracted statement of work under the Australian Sustainment Services Contract. This role requires excellence in stakeholder communication and management as well as the ability to utilise your skills, knowledge and business acumen to establish and maintain effective Program Management governance and assurance. As a senior manager supported by your execution leaders, you will lead, direct and indirect reports executing the four service delivery streams required under the Contract. Additionally, you will have responsibility and accountability for Program budget, governance and strategic direction. Further, you will be a key contributor as a member of the Sustainment Operations Leadership Team.

The Program Manager has Accountability for the following contracted service delivery streams:

  • Integration services
  • Supply services
  • Engineering services
  • Maintenance operations services

To be considered for the role you will have:

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage influence and negotiate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • The ability and confidence to lead, make executive decisions and escalate issues at the right time
  • Experience in an ASDEFCON contract environment
  • Demonstrable understanding of core program management principles e.g. change management, baseline management, risk management
  • An NV1 clearance
  • Experience working with a CASG customer
