The Opportunity

We are seeking a talented Maintenance Controller to join the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team supporting the Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS) project in Nowra, New South Wales. The Maintenance Controller reports directly to the Maintenance Operations Manager (MOM) and will primarily focus on ensuring we have identified tooling/support equipment and consumables necessary for component maintenance. They will be responsible for ensuring all facility requirements (including the management of ready-use hazardous chemicals) are maintained as per DASA regulations and applicable quality standards across the Mechanical, Avionics and Battery workshops. Secondary focus will be to provide structural repair support and training.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage site workshops, including all support equipment contained within to WHS, AS/EN 9110, and Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASR) standards.
  • Liaison between maintenance, supply chain, EHS and management for all matters pertaining to storage, replenishment and control of consumable items and be the primary Point of Contact for HAZCHEM management in the MRO environment.
  • Provide training and development of maintenance/structural team members and apprentices through mentoring and technical leadership.
  • Assist in the completion of site EHS workplace inspections.
  • Assist with the management of hangar facilities at the discretion of the MOM.
  • Exercise EC135 B and C MAML, and associated trade qualifications as directed by the MOM.

 

Experience/Qualifications

  • Experience in HAZCHEM and workshop / facility management
  • Certificate IV Aeroskills (Structures)
  • Ability to successfully interact with co-workers, maintaining productive working relationships to meet team, business unit, and organisational goals
  • Composite repair currency as per DASR
  • Previous experience working on Rotary Wing Aircraft
  • B 1.3 MAML (or ability to obtain)
  • C MAML (or ability to obtain)
  • EC-135 type and Safran 2B engine courses (desirable)
  • Experience coordinating maintenance activity
  • Experience with providing On-The-Job aerospace technical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Detailed knowledge of aircraft maintenance, policies and procedures

 

Security Clearance

You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a Government security clearance (Baseline) sponsored by BDA. Therefore, you must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and must have the ability to verify your background for whole of life i.e. birth to present time.
