The opportunity

We are seeking Project Managers to join Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) to support the world class airborne surveillance, communications and maritime patrol system; the P-8A Poseidon.  You will be joining a challenging and dynamic environment, supporting an aircraft platform that defends Australia's interests.

Being a Project Manager at BDA offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work across a diverse range of impactful projects. You will be responsible for providing effective project management to ensure the successful delivery of outcomes for your assigned projects encompassing capability improvements, system upgrades, obsolescence remediation, system safety enhancements, and implementation of new service delivery opportunities. In addition to supporting and collaborating with our team, you will have the chance to gain exposure and build your professional network by connecting with stakeholders across the company, both domestically and internationally.

The role located at RAAF Edinburgh, South Australia.

As a Project Manager you will:

  • Lead assigned project activities through to completion, ensuring alignment with program objectives and adherence to project management best practices.
  • Develop, monitor, and update project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, maintenance, and supply chain, to facilitate project execution and resolve issues.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise their impact on project objectives.
  • Communicate project status, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders, including program and customer leaders.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the project team.


To be considered for the role you will have:

  • Demonstrable experience in a project management role, showcasing proficiency in all project management areas and successful delivery of project outcomes.
  • A formal qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Business or Management is preferred however prior equivalent experience will be considered.
  • High level communication and negotiation skills with a strong focus on building successful relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
