The Opportunity

We are recruiting for the position of Field Service Representative to be based in Brisbane, to support the Battlespace Communications System (BCS). The BCS is a cutting-edge networking solution that integrates custom and off the shelf technology, providing superior communications capabilities for ADF personnel.  Its modular design allows for rapid deployment and customization for various missions.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies, diagnoses and resolves operational issues with the BCS, working collaboratively with ADF system users.
  • Monitors product operational performance and maintenance activities collecting technical data to make recommendations for system improvement through customer feedback. 
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to ADF BCS users through the provision of informal and ad hoc training.
  • Provide liaison at all levels between ADF BCS users and the system developer BDA.
  • Key point of contact for BDA across all ranks for the provision of support services.
  • Understanding Unit Operation Orders to assist the BCS Support Organisation to plan an appropriate support rate of effort.
  • Assist Units in reporting on BCS Network Services Availability and other contract Key Performance Indicators.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Qualifications in Information Technology / Telecommunications or equivalent, relevant experience.
  • 5-10 years experience within a Defence or technical environment
  • Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills
