The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated Senior Subcontracts Specialist (Contracts Management Professional) to join our Joint Systems business division to support a range of Australian network and communications programs. The position is based in the Brisbane CBD. 

Responsibilities:

In supporting the position, the successful candidate will be required to: 

  • Develop sourcing strategies and approaches to market for network and communications, IT and defence type goods and services;
  • Plan, draft, execute and manage a range of contracts types spanning communication and network equipment, IT and defence hardware;
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Maintain a relationship with suppliers and drive collaboration to ensure on time performance and compliance;
  • Participate in risk identification, mitigation planning and progress reporting; and
  • Ensure compliance with supply chain management and program corporate governance policies and procedures. 

Experience/Qualifications

The right applicant will have a combination of the following competencies: 

  • Eight (8) years' or more work experience in contracts management with prior experience in an engineering or project delivery organization being highly desirable;
  • Relevant Bachelor's degree in law, commerce or business;
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
  • Good working knowledge of the responsibilities and tasks performed in contracting and their interdependencies with other project activities (for example, engineering, logistics, finance); and
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team focused environment. 

Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements and applicants with current Australian defence clearances are highly desirable.
