The Opportunity

Boeing Defence Australia's (BDA) provides people, expertise, process and tools to manage aircraft design, repair and continuing airworthiness capabilities supporting program execution and growth opportunities. Forward looking, the Engineering function has developed a Capability Plan to enable the Engineering workforce to meet our defence customers' evolving needs, both in Australia and internationally.

BDA is looking for a Product Data Management Specialist to join the Engineering Strategy & Operations team, who are focused in creating Engineering excellence through diversity, culture, and strategic initiatives that will enable the workforce.  In this role you will support the RAAF P-8A aircraft fleet.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with technical background looking to continue their career, in an office based environment.  This role is based at RAAF Base Edinburgh, SA.

As a Product Data Management Specialist within BDA, you will:

  • Perform Data Management activities as part of an overall project plan.
  • Co-ordinate the flow of project-related technical data and library documentation within the P-8A team, and between internal and external agencies.
  • Control incoming and outgoing data, data packaging, protection and acknowledgement of receipt for Government Furnished (GF) system, Classified Data, Archived Data and documentation.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of data management plans, standards, processes, systems and tools.
  • Effectively interface with our internal and external customers to support the operation of the platform.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • You will have a Technical background (AME or Technical Writer).
  • An aptitude to be able to use data based management tools.
  • Knowledge of data management in an engineering/maintenance/manufacturing environment is highly regarded.
